With the wealthiest 10% of the Canadian population owning 47.9%[1] of the wealth and the bottom 30% owning just 1%6[2], there is a significant and growing inequality across Canada.

Despite a breadth of tools and resources, the Canadian Payroll Association survey found that 47% of people were living paycheck to paycheck[3]  and 36% of Canadians report that not having enough money actually keeps them awake at night [4].

WHY IS THIS? AND MORE IMPORTANTLY
HOW MIGHT WE CHANGE IT?

  • What if we thought differently about finances?

  • What if we moved from expert and product driven financial advice to openly talking about finances, sharing our knowledge, tools, and resources?
  • What if we paid more attention to the barriers that are preventing people from succeeding and collectively worked to create meaningful solutions?

  • What if we helped each other get to our financial goals?

STRIVE is working to do just that

  • Hosting peer to peer workshops designed to help Canadians take control of their finances
  • Working to create an understanding of where system barriers are preventing people from thriving and what meaningful solutions could look like
  • Working to recognize and encourage behaviours of resiliency
